Experience
I have tutored maths and the sciences since leaving school and enjoy teaching a whole range of age groups and levels. I spent several summers tutoring touch typing to children with learning difficulties, which I very much enjoyed. I am trained in the Govett method for teaching maths at 11 and 13+ level.
Biography
I graduated with a BA and masters in Chemical Engineering from Trinity College, Cambridge in June 2008. I spent a year tutoring maths and the sciences at all levels before starting my medical studies last September. I have just finished my first year of graduate entry medicine at worcester college, oxford, and this summer holidays I am in london to tutor again.
Personal Approach
I know that some concepts in maths and the sciences can seem abstract and be difficult to grasp. My aim is to find ways to help each tutee individually to understand those concepts, which makes the subjects seem much less daunting. I enjoy getting to know my tutees so that I can find out what areas they find difficult, and why, and working with them to come up with learning strategies that will help them the most.
