Biography
Having graduated from Cambridge in 2008 with a first class degree in English Literature, I returned to Cambridge in 2009 and have just completed an M Phil in Renaissance Literature. I have been tutoring since late 2008 and I have also worked for Civitas Supplementary Schools System which has given me invaluable experiences teaching dyslexic children. To be able to use my love of English (and hopefully inspire others to share it) has been really wonderful.
Personal Approach
I think that friendship and trust form the fundamental basis to the tutor-student relationship. Together with a student, I build up the strategies and frameworks adapted to his or her individual skills. My style is conversational and creative, but in the run up to exams I focus on developing practicable exam techniques and making them seem accessible.
Testimonials
''Phoebe was great. I like her a lot. She was lively, cheerful, and able to stop Jing from doing or saying silly things. May be I'm telling you earlier than I should, but we'd like Phoebe to tutor Jing on a long-term basis.''
