Personal Approach
I believe that building a child's confidence in a subject is crucial to good tutoring, as so often a child's difficulty with a subject stems from a fear of getting it wrong. To this end I like to work slowly, breaking it down into bitesized chunks and concentrating on their strengths before tackling their weaknesses.
Moreover, I spend a lot of time working on core skills like essay planning, time management and confident presentation, both on the page and in person.
I try and get each child enthusiastic about the subject and show how it relates to the world outside the classroom. I always aim to inspire a child and teach them to think, not just to pass exams.
I am a trained actress and run a theatre company and workshops for children. I use this training to find the 'fun' angle when helping children learn.

Mrs Erez
''Ellie is a wonderful teacher, apart from the usual all-roundedness: good teacher, good people skills etc., she has a special streak. She is passionate about what she does and this made me love English all the more. I think Ellie remembers what it was to be a pupil and so she helps you exactly where you need the help. She uses wit, creativity and confidence to pass on her love of literature and has built up my self-belief without me even realizing!''
