Biography
After gaining a Masters in History of Art from Edinburgh University, I moved to New York to attend Drama School. On graduating I lived in New York and Los Angeles for several years becoming a professional actress and screenwriter. On my return to London, I set up my own theatre company.
In January 2012, I qualified as a Guide at the Victoria and Albert Museum to further my interest in the History of Art.
I have travelled extensively throughout the world; due to my travels and studies, I have developed great respect for different people, cultures and customs.
Personal Approach
Teaching has been the most rewarding experience; it allows me to impart some of my love for learning and gives me the satisfaction of helping and guiding a pupil to discover their own abilities and the confidence to do the work. I treat my pupils as individuals - that is I don't patronise them as I find that having a good relationship and enjoying our time together helps the work process and builds their confidence. I like to discuss a subject beyond the set syllabus and imbue my pupil with the desire to discover further. The syllabus can be dull and confining - I believe it is important to show how much more there is out there to learn and enjoy.
What I do when I am not tutoring
I have several acting projects on the go and currently have three screenplays in development.
I teach English part-time at a French Primary School.
I am a Guide at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
