Henry Fraser
I predominantly teach: GCSE Chemistry, AS/A2 Chemistry
My general subjects: Biology, Maths, Physics, Science (Year 6-9), Music, Oxbridge Preparation, Reasoning
Experience
I have taught many students aged from 6 to 21 in a range of subject areas. A few are mentioned below.
Girl 6 Yrs - preparation for entrance exams by completing verbal reasoning, maths and reading/comprehension. I gained experience in dealing with a very young child and learned methods to keep her interested for nearly 2 hours. Ella successfully won a place at Highgate Prep School after her exam preparation.
Girl - 14 Yrs - General tuition of science, maths, history and geography. Assistance with homework and consolidation of material covered in lessons. Lorena has significantly improved in class.
Dominic - 18 Yrs - A2 Chemistry, particularly focusing past the A-level syllabus in order to affirm reaction mechanisms and the understanding behind reactions. Allows application of knowledge to any unfamiliar territory and helps gain the highest A* Grade.
Henry - 21 Yrs - 2nd Year Degree Chemistry. Struggling with organic chemistry so went back to first year basics and built up the foundations which had not been consolidated. Significant improvement down to his hard work and my directions and advice. Hoping to gain a high 2:1 from a low 3rd.
I have taught many other students, the majority of which GCSE level, covering mostly science and maths but also humanities and music.

Biography
Born and bred in rural Norfolk, I became head boy of my 6th form college before going on to study chemistry at Oxford University where I gained a high first class Masters degree.
After teaching friends ad hoc, I began professional tutoring when I moved to London in 2010. I quickly built up a client base from which I worked part-time to supplement my career path in science and factual television.
I am now studying for an MSc in Science Media Production at Imperial College until October 2012.
Personal Approach
I am very flexible and will listen to the clients directions and wishes, bringing them together with my objectives to create a bespoke lesson plan.
Every student learns differently and I draw on my experience form teaching over a broad range of tutees to adapt each lesson to the client.
In science especially, it is only when the student can teach me the topic that we can move on. The understanding for this is gained through analogies, diagrams and examples, and confidence is gained through repetition and encouragement.
What I do when I am not tutoring
I am a keen musician. I play instruments including Drums, Guitar, Double Bass (Grade 5) and Piano (Grade 8) in several bands and also produce electronic music using computer software.
I also love sport and enjoy playing cricket, rugby and cycling.
My other passion is cooking. Working for 4 years as a restaurant chef during university vacations, I have developed a strong interest in food and I love to experiment in the kitchen.
