Experience
I have experience of tutoring English and History at A, AS and GCSE level as well as the 13+ curriculum.
May-June 2010 - I intensively tutored two boys for two months in preparation for their 13 + in subjects across the curriculum with an emphasis on History, English and R.E but also covering Maths, the Sciences, Latin and French. I tutored the boys both individually and as a pair. This was both challenging and rewarding as they were good friends and fairly animated when together. I am proud that I was able to both inspire and discipline them into listening to me and taking pride in their work. They both passed with with higher grades than predicted by their prep schools and were accepted into their first choice secondary schools.
2008-2010 - I regularly tutored a girl for two years in English Literature AS and A-Level. She achieved an 'A' grade at AS level and again at A-level. My tuition with her covered help with developing her coursework and exam preparation. I also worked closely with her on her university entrance and preparing her personal statement and, when she decided that she wanted to defer her place at Bristol, I worked with her on the best strategy for approaching the university and how to write a successful letter of request. We remain in touch as she is currently thinking about applying to University in America, which I have experience of doing, having gone through the process myself after A level.
2009-2010 - I tutored two sisters on a weekly basis in English language and English Literature at GCSE level. The eldest sister received A*s in her coursework and went on to achieve an A in Literature and a B in Language, which she and her mother were very pleased with. I have been asked to continue to teach the younger sister for GCSE this year. They are a lovely family and I enjoy working with them.
2009 - 2010 - I tutored a girl weekly in East London which is where I live, in English Literature A-level. When I started tutoring her she had just received a 'D' grade in English Literature at AS level. I tutored her through her retakes, which she took outside of school as her teachers refused to help her set the exam up in school. She retook the exam and achieved a 'B' grade. I continued to tutor her through her A-level and we covered a whole module together ahead of her class on her request which she took in January and achieved a solid 'A' grade. She achieved a 'B' grade overall. I am very proud of her.
These are a few of the pupils whom I have worked with on a regular basis for one or two years. I also have shorter term experience of tutoring, for example, English at 11+ and History at GCSE with students who wanted a little help before exams and with coursework.

Biography
I graduated as a scholar from Cambridge University (Gonville & Caius College) in 2006 with a double first in English Literature. Before that I was a student at Wycombe Abbey School and graduated with school honours. I took my A-levels in History (A), English Literature (A), and Classical Greek (A). I also took AS levels in Theatre Studies (A), General Studies (A) and Critical Thinking (A). For my GCSES I took 10 subjects including French and Latin (7 A*s, 3As).
On graduating I spent two years at drama school in Paris and have since worked as an actor, performing professionally in Iran, Berlin and Paris as well as in the West End, on the box and at the Edinburgh Festival. I started my own company, Match Theatre, in 2008. I love watching films, reading and spending time with my friends.
What I do when I am not tutoring
As well as working as an actor and I am the joint artistic director of Match Theatre. I write regularly, am the author of several short stories and am currently writing a musical with my long-term collaborator Thomas Hewitt Jones (BBC Young Composer of the Year) with whom I also recently wrote an anthem commissioned and performed by the Canterbury choir.
